Dr. Olalekan Olaleye​

Dr Olalekan Olaleye is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with 16 years clinical experience in medical practice. Thirteen of these years have been dedicated fully to the practice of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and he holds fellowship of both the National Postgraduate College of Nigeria and the West African College of Surgeons. His areas of clinical interests include management of infertility, high risk pregnancies and cancers of the female reproductive system. He also has expertise in invasive prenatal diagnosis. He is a strong advocate of health system reforms in the country.

He has worked both in public and private health institutions. He presently works as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Paelon Memorial hospital, Lagos. He had his internship and residency training programmes at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. He also worked at Lagoon Hospital (2011-2017), Lagos where he was part of the team that midwifed the introduction of electronic medical records to the hospital and was instrumental in drafting numerous clinical practice guidelines and protocols. He has also been a resource person to the Sickle cell prenatal diagnosis program since 2012.

He was a recipient of the National Award for the best dissertation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by the Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria at its convocation in September 2011. He has authored and co-authored several peer reviewed articles in different aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology and other health related topics. He is a member of different professional bodies including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON).
He serves as the Chairman of the board of Viable Helpers Development Organization.
